Evidence handling fails when packaging fails. A compromised seal, an illegible label area, or a bag that tears in transit can unravel months of investigative work and create liability that reaches the courtroom. Our SECUR-PAK line of evidence bags was engineered specifically to address those failure points, with sealing technology, documentation zones, and film strength calibrated to the realities of field use.
For more than three decades, we have worked alongside federal, state, and municipal law enforcement agencies, as well as forensic labs and distributors supplying them. That history shapes every bag we produce. You get packaging that meets chain-of-custody requirements, stands up to handling in squad cars and property rooms, and gives prosecutors confidence that the contents arrived intact.
Transparent film allows officers and lab technicians to identify contents without opening the bag, reducing handling and preserving the seal. These are the most common crime scene evidence bags used across patrol, detective, and lab operations. Stock sizes range from 6″ x 9″ pouches suitable for small items such as shell casings or narcotics samples up to 19″ x 24″ bags for clothing and bulkier evidence.
A common starting point for agencies is our 12″ x 16″ clear tamper-evident evidence bag, which accommodates most handheld items collected at a scene.
Purpose-built for first responders and crime scene investigators who need to collect, label, and transport materials under time pressure. CSI and crime scene bags include pre-printed documentation panels for case number, agency, officer, date, suspect, victim, and scene location.
Paper is the correct medium for biological evidence such as bloodstained clothing, damp fabric, or organic samples, because it allows moisture to escape and prevents mold growth that can destroy DNA viability. Our paper evidence bags meet standard agency protocols for this class of material.
Electronic evidence, such as phones, hard drives, SIM cards, and circuit boards, requires packaging that shields against electrostatic discharge. Our anti-static forensic bags protect digital evidence from the point of seizure through lab analysis.
Used during booking and intake to secure personal effects, jewelry, currency, and documents belonging to individuals in custody. Sizes include 9″ x 12″ and 12″ x 16″ configurations, with tamper-evident closures identical to those on our evidence line.
Chain of custody is a documentation problem as much as a security problem. Both pieces need to work together, which is why SECUR-PAK bags build custody tracking into the physical product.
Sequential numbering appears on both the bag body and the adhesive liner. When the numbers match at every handoff, the bag is intact. When they do not, that is evidence of bag switching and creates an immediate audit trail.
Our newest Level 4 tape closure uses visible messaging and thermochromic ink to reveal physical tampering, along with attempts using cold or heat. SECUR-TAPE, exclusive to Connover Packaging, resists temperature-based attacks that defeat lower-grade closures. Any attempt to open the bag produces visible signs and triggers a “VOID” indicator. Pouch-style seals include side indents that prevent reopening and make slitting or resealing unworkable.
If stock does not fit your workflow, we build custom. That includes non-standard dimensions, specialty closures, custom printing with your agency seal or department identifiers, sequential numbering ranges tied to your case management system, and specialty films for unusual evidence categories.
The process starts with your specifications. We produce a functional prototype, so your team can handle, label, and seal the bag before you commit to production. Free samples are available on request, and our minimum for custom runs starts at 5,000 bags, well below what most manufacturers will accept.
Polyethylene film used in our security bags is selected for puncture resistance and tear strength. Evidence gets dropped, stacked, transported in cramped vehicles, and stored in property rooms for months or years before trial. The bag has to last as long as the case does.
Stock tamper-evident bags are available in common weights and sizes, and we can spec heavier films or multi-layer structures for agencies handling sharp objects, weapons, or evidence that will see extended storage.
Whether you need a pallet of stock tamper-evident bags for next week or a custom run with your department’s specifications, we can help. Request your quote or call 1.800.770.4906 to speak with the Connover Packaging team.
